Amanda Hendry, a former field hockey goalie, achieved great success in her sports career. As a member of the U17 and U19 National Team, she later joined the UNC Division 1 field hockey team, winning numerous championships and being named a NCAA 1st team All-American. After discovering pickleball, Amanda quickly rose in the ranks and is now a top 10 player in both women's doubles and singles on the APP Tour. Alongside her competitive endeavors, she coaches in her community, embracing her love for the sport and helping it grow.

  • Amanda Hendry has always been driven by her passion for sports, fueling her desire to compete at the highest level. Her impressive sports career began as a field hockey goalie, where she played for the U17 and U19 National Teams. Recognizing her talent and potential, Amanda was recruited to join the UNC Division 1 field hockey team, where she played as the starting goalie for all four years and even served as co-captain during her senior year. Throughout her time on the team, she contributed to three NCAA Championships and four ACC Championships, solidifying her status as an exceptional athlete. She was also honored with the title of NCAA 1st team All-American.

    While pursuing her field hockey career at UNC, Amanda stumbled upon pickleball. Initially, she played recreationally with her friends, but it wasn't until after her graduation and departure from field hockey that she decided to take pickleball more seriously. In just two short years, Amanda has shown remarkable success in the sport. She currently ranks in the top 10 for both women's doubles and women's singles on the APP Tour. Her dedication and well-rounded approach to the game have allowed her to secure numerous achievements, having won 10 medals in pro and open events, competing in women's, mixed, and singles matches. Amanda aspires to climb even higher in the rankings in all of these events, continuously striving for excellence.

    Outside of her competitive endeavors on the pickleball tour, Amanda also finds fulfillment in coaching within her own community at PGA Verano. She sees coaching as an opportunity to give back to the sport she loves and to foster its growth. Through coaching, she has had the privilege of connecting with incredible individuals, both within the pickleball community and beyond.
