Shelby Bates Player Profile
Born and raised in Jericho, NY as the daughter of a tennis pro. Shelby played junior tennis before receiving a scholarship to Coastal Carolina University in Myrtle Beach, SC where she finished her senior year playing first team doubles and second singles.

Shortly after she started teaching tennis after moving to St. Augustine, FL and now residing in Jupiter, Fl. She now continues teaching tennis and pickleball at a private country club in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Shelby has quickly made a name for herself after going pro just 6 months after her first Pickeball Tournament. Shelby turned pro in August of 2022 and was drafted in the 2023 MLP draft to the D.C. Pickleball Team and the New Jersey 5’s
